Boca Grande, Gasparilla Island, Florida
I like sandy beaches; I like pirate history. I guess that’s why I loved creating this vinyl as much as the Coronado Islands. Islands and pirates go hand in hand.
Boca Grande is known for its sugar sand beaches and world class fishing. The name boca grande (Spanish for “big mouth”) comes from the Boca Grande Pass at the southern tip of Gasparilla Island, a barrier island in southwest Florida. Jose Gaspar, nicknamed Gasparilla, was the Last of the Buccaneer pirates, important in Florida folklore.
